Useful Pottery Facts

Not all pottery can be used in the microwave, especially those with glazes containing lead and other heavy metals.

MazAmar Dinnerware and Art Pottery to do very well in the microwave.

How the glazes are formulated and the way glazes 'fit' the clays we use means less chance of thermal shock (which causes crazing and separation of glaze from the clay body).

All MazAmar Pottery is glazed with Laguna commercial glazes, certified non-toxic and in compliance with ASTM C1023 and D4236 (industry standards).

Caring for your MazAmar Pottery

All MazAmar Pottery is lead free and can be used in the oven, microwave and dishwasher – as long as it's not placed next to your grandmother's griddle!

Pieces should not be taken from freezer to microwave or pre-heated oven. Place room temperature pieces in an un-heated oven, then turn oven on.

Do not place empty pieces in the oven. If you wish to heat your pottery, fill it with water first. Never use ceramic vessels on top of the stove.

With care, your MazAmar pottery should last centuries!
