Tip of the Day:
For our ware boards, we've used eight inch redwood planks harvested from a friend's old cabin in the desert -- redwood is lighter and stronger than most wood so it makes a full board easier to carry. Our original studio was long and narrow, so we placed two, floor to ceiling 4X4's about three feet apart at intervals the length of the studio. This allowed us to put L brackets on both sides of the posts and use them to hold the loose boards. We got 20 movable boards (10 on each side) per set of posts (spaced about eight inches apart). In our present studio, we had to put all the 4X4's against the walls, but it's still a great system! Ware moves easily from throwing area, to drying, to kiln room, to glazing and back to kilns again on the boards. No need for expensive ware carts!

 Great on-line films ...0 comments

Check out Ninjai, the little ninja [link] on Atomfilms.com -- a terrific site for amazing independant films. Always changing, dynamic. We've mostly stuck to the animated, but there's all kinds of shorts -- and free! Careful, some suck, and some are pretty tweeked. Ninjai, as you can see from the pic, is simply, beautifully and uniquely animated. We're turning everyone on (with dsl, that is).
