Why do people always have to do things "on purpose"?

Tip of the Day

One material that has been invaluable to us in the studio is one and two-foot-square drywall pieces, taped around the edges. They're good for hand-building -- pieces don't stick and it makes it easy to move them around. We also make all our tiles on them and stack them -- keeps tiles from warping and they dry evenly (platters do well on them too). When we throw off the hump, we put several pieces on the boards -- they expand the "width" of our ware boards and they're just great for extra working surface. Oh, and they're great for a quick wedging surface, especially with wetter clay. Also, they're inexpensive and easy to make, so when we send a young visitor away with a bit of clay to play with, the parents appreciate it when we give them a board as well.
